My friend Nadine Holmes is a baking sorceress. Seriously, she does some of the most incredible work I’ve ever seen. If you’ve been to any genre fiction book launch in this country in the last couple of years, odds are you’ve seen, eaten and then stolen as many as you can of the remainder, of her work. Want some examples?
And
Her stuff is amazing and now, she’s putting together a special cookie selection for October 21st. Why October 21st? I’ll let her explain:
October 21st 2015 is the date that Marty McFly arrived in his DeLorean time machine. In honour of this auspicious date, myself and a number of other bakers are selling cookies and cakes to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.
For a minimum donation of £12, I am offering a platter of cookies (approx 8-10) of various sizes in a Back To The Future theme, including UK postage. Feel free to donate as much as you are able. Even if you don’t want cookies, if you can spare a few pounds, that would be great. Don’t forget to GiftAid if you are a UK tax payer.
The initiative Nadine and her colleagues have come up with is, of course, called Bake to the Future. It’s a brilliant idea for a very worthy cause and an absolute win/win for you. Donate money to a good cause, get sent great cookies, eat them while watching three classics of pop culture. Maybe throw some tea in their if you’re feeling rock and roll. I will be.
