Despite Saturday Night Live‘s towering presence in modern culture, I’ve never watched a full episode of the show so I wasn’t expecting to like Saturday Night. The movie opened with a quote that made me mutter ‘FUCK YOU’, made me laugh at 1am on a plane somewhere over the Atlantic, and closes with a perfect metaphorical summation of the horrors and joys of making things. This is the birth of a comedy juggernaut. This is Saturday Night.
