Sunday Moment of Zen: Mass Effect: Andromeda

I’ve played a small amount of the first Mass Effect and watched Marguerite play the entire trilogy. It’s a stunning piece of work, a 150 hour science fiction novel that takes in friendship, duty, the terrors and triumphs of history and what happens when every intelligent race in existence realizes they’re renting the galaxy rather than owning it.

Mass Effect: Andromeda, the fourth game in the series, looks set to radically alter the setting and premise in a really interesting way. This teaser trailer makes that explicit, evoking the spirit of crewed space exploration in a way that grabs me right by the heartstrings but doesn’t feel manipulative.

Andromeda is out next year. This trailer, which will still be giving me goosebumps then, is your Sunday Moment of Zen.
