They’re a calm, focused presence who looks mostly human and has a compassionate and pragmatic approach to their work. One page shows them smelling a vase of roses and saying ‘Flowers are fleeting, but worth it.’ They’re not wrong.
They could also be talking about zines. Chao’s story is six pages long but folds in serenity, practicality and a light scattering of the supernatural. It’s zine as pause for breath, which when the plants need watering, is exactly what you need to do. Subtle and clever and kind. Remember to water your plants.
