WRITING: “Dean Winchester and Commander Shepard Walk into a Bar: Why Fanon Matters” in Uncanny Magazine Issue 17, 4th July

That amazing cover has a list of names on it. One of which is mine! I have an essay in the next issue of Uncanny Magazine and I couldn’t be happier about it. Uncanny do amazing, award-winning work that makes the industry better. Their work is always fun, always interesting and goes out of it’s way to offer new perspectives.

They’re also incredible editors. The feedback I got on my essay, which is concerned with the ongoing turf wars between reader and author over control of story itself, is one of the best editorial experiences I’ve ever had. It was a joy to write and an honor to see published and I’m in amazing company. Seriously, check this table of contents out:
